How much will be my monthly contribution?
Is there a waiting period?
Yes, there are waiting periods if you are joining medical aid for the first time. If you are migrating from another service provider, there will be no waiting periods except for the ones you are currently serving.

Can my waiting period be waived if I pay 3 months premiums in advance?
No. You may pay your premiums in advance, but will need to observe the respective waiting periods for each service.
How can I as a citizen in the diaspora sponsor my family in Zimbabwe?
You may fill in the membership application form available on our website, with the details of your family members, pay for their membership through a transfer into our Nedbank nostro Account No: 11991718534 Branch Code: 18101 and send us proof of payment together with the application form to memebership@maishahealthfund.co.zw Cc finance@maishahealthfund.co.zw
How can I join Maisha Health Fund medical aid?
Individuals may sign up for Maisha Health Fund on their mobile phones from anywhere in Zimbabwe.

How do I pay for my membership using your mobile phone?
Which service providers accept Maisha Health Fund cards?
Our card is widely accepted at major public and private hospitals, surgeries and pharmacies nationwide. A comprehensive list is available on the service providers’ portal on our website: Click this link to our portal: https://maishahealth.co.zw/business-directory/
• Maisha Health fund may sign up new service providers as per member’s request.
How long does it take me to receive my medical aid card?
You will receive your membership certificate advising you of your medical aid number and your card within your first month of registration.
You will also be requested to visit your nearest service provider with your national ID for registration on biometric.
What is the age limit for joining Maisha Health Fund?
Maximum allowable age limit – below 65 years.
How do I make a refund claim?
Download claim form on the website on this link (https://maishahealth.co.zw/how-to-claim/)
complete it and send it via email to claims@maishahealthfund.co.zw. Send it together with:
- valid receipts,
- drugs prescription
- pharmacy claim form if it’s for pharmacy
- And claim form for services received.
How many people/ dependents can I add on my medical aid?
As many as you will be able to contribute for as long as they are your immediate family members i.e. (spouse, children, parents, grandparents, mother in-law & father in-law.
How can I add a dependant?
Follow the simple steps as follows:
Can I upgrade or downgrade from one package to another and is there a waiting period?
Yes you may upgrade or downgrade. There is no waiting period for downgrading, but there is 3 months waiting period for upgrading.
What is the difference between a Corporate Fund a traditional medical aid cover?
- A corporate fund is a self-insurance product. Maisha Health Fund sets up a Fund for the Corporate’s staff and their dependents. Corporate enjoys active participation in the administration of the Fund through setting up rules governing the administration of the Fund. Funds belong to the corporate.
- Traditional medical aid cover means that funds are contributed into a pool owned by the medical aid society.
How do I become a Maisha Health Fund service provider?
Requirements: Complete a Maisha Health Fund Service Level Agreement and submit together with copies of the following documents
- Health Professions Association (HPA) Certificate / Practicing
- AHFoZ Letter/Certificate
- Current Tax Clearance Certificate
- Banking details ((both FCA & ZWL) on Letterhead and signed for
How do I become a Maisha Health Fund service provider?
Requirements: Complete a Maisha Health Fund Service Level Agreement and submit together with copies of the following documents

In the case where service provider does not accept my medical aid how can I request for a prepayment?
Get invoice from the service provider for the required service together with their banking details and send via email to claims@maishahealthfund.co.zw . Send together with your full name and medical aid number for validation.
