Hello there our valued members! At Maisha Health Fund we care about your health and safety. Covid-19 is real and has claimed the lives of many people globally and in Zimbabwe. While the nation of Zimbabwe is battling with the third wave of coronavirus infections, we sympathize with families that have lost loved ones. As a community we have a responsibility to do our part to fight the Covid-19 pandemic together, through following guidelines provided by the World Health Organization and The Ministry of Health and Child Care. We applaud the efforts being done nationwide to ensure access to vaccines to all citizens in the ongoing vaccination campaign.
Have you been fully vaccinated or you are still worried about the safety of the vaccines? Read on to get quick facts and information that will help you make the right choice for you and your family.
Covid19 vaccines were created to help fight the pandemic and preserve communities around the world. A vaccine will help you develop immunity against the disease. Similar to vaccines that you took as a child, the Covid-19 vaccines will protect you from severe illness incase you contract the virus.
You can get vaccinated if you are 18 years and older.
Yes, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 vaccines are safe. They were developed using information obtained from research that has been around for many years. The COVID-19 vaccines underwent all the necessary stages of clinical trials to ensure their safety and effectiveness. After extensive testing and monitoring, the vaccines have been shown to be able to reduce the effects of the virus in a way that is safe for human beings.
Vaccines work by training and preparing your immune system to be able to recognize and fight off the viruses and bacteria. If the body is later exposed to those viruses after vaccination, it is prepared to destroy them, thereby preventing illness.
No, vaccines do not stop you from contracting covid-19, but reduce the severity of symptoms. We must all continue wearing masks, washing or sanitizing our hands, avoiding gatherings and keeping a safe distance to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading the virus.
The COVID-19 vaccines being offered are safe for individuals with pre-existing conditions of any kind, including auto-immune disorders. These conditions include: diabetes, hypertension, asthma and liver problems. We recommend that you consult your doctor if you are worried about any allergies that you might have.
Getting the Covid-19 vaccine protects you from the disease as it helps you develop an immunity response to the virus. It keeps you from getting seriously ill in the event that you contract the virus. Because you are protected from getting infected, you are at less risk of infecting someone else.Getting vaccinated may also help to protect the people who are around you, especially those at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is a safer choice. It will help you stay healthy so you don’t miss out on the things you love, and to regain your freedom to interact with family and friends.
